A Headford native, who ran unsuccessfully as an Independent candidate for the Galway West constituency last year, has joined the Labour party.

43 year old husband and father of two, Eamon Walsh, will put his name forward as a Labour candidate in the Tuam electoral area in the next local election in 2014.

Eamon runs 'Command IT' at Briarhill Business Park in the city, and is also a well- known campaigner for people with disabilities.

The Headford labour party branch was officially launched this week.

Speaking to Galway Bay Fm News, Eamon Walsh says his own personal experiences led him into the political arena.
