Headford man to be remembered at hungerstrike commemoration

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A County Galway man will be among those commemorated at a National Hungerstrike Event next week organised by Sinn Fein Tony D'Arcy of Headford died on the 16th of April 1940 after 53 days on hungerstrike in St. Bricin's Military Hospital in Dublin. The National Hungerstrike Commemoration is an annual parade to honor Irishmen who lost their lives on hungerstrike in 1917, 1940 and 1981. The event will take place in Derrylin, Co. Fermanagh on Sunday week the 3rd of August.
