Harbour extension would put Galway on the map for next 800 years
Galway Bay fm newsroom - The proposed Galway harbour extension will put Galway on the map for the next 800 years.
That's according to the chairperson of the harbour company Paul Carey, who was part of the delegation who made a presentation to city councillors this evening.
The development involves a harbour extension on 27 acres of reclaimed land, to include 660 metres of commercial quays, a helicopter pad and a 216berth marina.
Phase 1 of the plan will cost 52 million, which is expected to be generated through asset disposal, borrowing and public private partnership.
The plan will be submitted to An Bord Pleanala for approval in the coming weeks.
