Local internet radio show, The Lost Highway and the Crane Bar present a very special event dedicated to the music of Hank Williams on Thursday, January 26. The night will feature the cream of local talent and all proceeds will go to the Galway Rape Crisis Centre.
Fifty nine years after his death the music of Hank Williams resonates with both young and old and is still relevant in this modern age. His music has crossed many boundaries and has influenced many musicians such as Bob Dylan, Nick Cave and Norah Jones.
Lost Highway Show presenters Stella Mae and Jolene are delighted that so many of Galway’s musicians are willing to lend their support to the evening. Those taking part include Noriana Kennedy, Nicola Joyce, the Sumbrellas, Mikey and the Scallywags, Three Men and a Bass, Joe Fury, Anthony Mannion and many more.
The Galway Rape Crisis Centre provide counselling and support services to survivors of sexual violence and abuse in the West of Ireland. The centre also provides education and training services to the general public, and to specific groups in the community.Tickets will be available at the door (opens at 8.30) €8 waged, €5 unwaged.
