Date Published: 28-Aug-2011
The renowned racing yacht Green Dragon took to the seas for the first time in two years this afternoon.
The Irish entry in the Volvo Ocean Race has been in dry-dock ever 2009.
After being refitted and repaired recently, the Green Dragon sailed out of Galway Docks at 3 o'clock, giving well-wishers a chance to see her before she sets sail for Holland tomorrow.
The yacht will take part in the Frankfurt Motor Show promoting the Volvo Ocean Race 2012 and the Global Village in Galway Docks.
Speaking to Galway Bay FM News aboard the Green Dragon Chairman of Let's Do it Global Enda O'Coineen says their sail got off to a great start.
The Green Dragon will return to Galway Docks around half six this evening.
