GORT SEIGE ACCUSED FIRED SHOT AT PARTNER COURT HEARS

Details of the events leading up to a siege in Gort town over two years ago have been heard at Galway Circuit Criminal Court. Today was day two of the trial of 42 year old Anthony Burke of 67 Crowe Street, Gort, in connection with a siege at Crowe Street, Gort, over a 21- hour period between Sunday October 8 and Monday, October 9, 2006.The court heard his partner and three children fled their house after Burke told them to leave and fired a shot after them.
