GMIT SPORTS COMPLEX PLAN APPEALED

A multi-functional sports complex planned for GMIT has been appealed to An Bord Pleanála.
City planners had given the development the go-ahead in February subject to 31 conditons.
The plans include a 2-storey multi-functional sports building, car parking, ESB substation, signage, landscaping and all associated site works.
It would also see new and improved pedestrian and bus stop facilities on Dublin Road, to include bus set down, bus shelters and pedestrian crossing.
The development is now subject to a third party appeal involving three appellants.
An Bord Pleanala is due to make its decision in July.
