GERALD BARRY PLEADS GUILTY TO RAPING FRENCH WOMAN IN MERVUE

The Galway city man who murdered Swiss teenager Manuela Riedo in October 2007 has pleaded guilty to raping a French woman in August 2007.29 year old Gerald Barry of Rosan Glas, Rahoon pleaded guilty to orally and anally raping the 23-year-old woman near the GAA pitch at Walter Macken Road, Mervue on August 16, 2007 under Section 4 of the Criminal Law Rape Amendment Act 1990.At the Central Criminal Court sitting in Cloverhill today Gerald Barry was certified a sex offender and remanded in custody for sentence on July 20th by Mr Justice Paul Carney.
