Gardaí seize heroin worth €140,000 in Loughrea
A man in his 40s was arrested in Loughrea last night following the seizure of what Gardaí believe to be heroin with a street value of €140,000.
Members of the Galway Divisional Drug Unit stopped and searched a car in Loughrea at around 11.25pm and seized what they believe to be heroin.
A 41-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was detained at Galway Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
He has since been released without charge. A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
According to Gardaí, investigations are ongoing.
