Gardaí investigating the discovery of a man's body in Tuam this morning say they are not treating the incident as suspicious.
A search team discovered the body of 79 year old Laurence Newell from Sylane close to his home at a bog road shortly after 9 this morning.
It's understood he had been out for a walk to check his turf when he took ill.
His family reported him missing at around 11:30 last night and a land search of the area got underway after 1am.
The Shannon Rescue Helicopter 115 was launched at around 4am to assist in the operation.
His body has been taken to University Hospital Galway where a post mortem will take place tomorrow.
