GARDAI NOT DOING THEIR JOB WITH EYRE SQUARE PROTESTORS

Galway gardai are not doing their job in relation to the Eyre Square protestors according to city cllr and former Mayor Michael Crowe addressing last night's council meeting

He said the city council takes action against rent defaulters and traffic offenders yet these protestors are allowed to stay illegally on city council owned property putting the city's commercial life at risk

Cllr Billy Cameron defended the protestors saying they represent him and 99 per cent of people who have lost out in these calamitous economic times

Officials reassured cllrs that the Christmas market can ahead from Friday week as planned as the market operators and Occupy Galway have reached agreement on the camps relocating
