Gardai investigate theft of parts from cars in city

The converter, known commonly as a 'CAT', controls a vehicle's emissions and is made up of precious metals, and are often sold to scrap yards for cash.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the culprits acting suspiciously underneath cars at GMIT yesterday to contact them at 091 53 8000.
