GARDAI INVESTIGATE ARMED ROBBERY IN WESTSIDE

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a robbery at a service station in the city last night.

Shortly after 10 o'clock last night, a man entered the Maxol service station at the Westside shopping centre, brandishing an item that could have been a knife.

He walked towards a female member of staff and threatened her demanding cash from the premises.

He then fled the scene with a small amount of cash.
