GARDAI CONTINUE TO QUESTION MAN OVER CLAYTON HOTEL RAID

Gardai are continuing to question a 26 year-old Galway man in connection with this morning's armed raid on the Clayton Hotel in Ballybrit.The man was arrested under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act in the Salthill area shortly before lunchtime. He's being detained at Galway Garda Station at Mill Street and can be held in custody for up to 12 hours before he's released or charged. Three staff members at the hotel were held up around 4.30am when a man stole a small amount of cash from the hotel safe.No staff or guests were injured during the incident, and the Clayton Hotel is operating as normal today.
