GALWAY'S ONLY SENIOR MINISTER REFUSING TO COMMENT PUBLICLY ON BORD SNIP REPORT

Galway's only senior government minister is refusing to say whether or not he will oppose the proposed new cut-backs contained in Colm McCarthy's report.An Bord Snip Nua wants the Galway West TD's department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs to be axed with the loss of 196 jobs.Minister Eamon O'Cuiv of Galway West says he's not in a position to comment publicly on the issue, but he will give his views privately to the cabinet.
