A first-year student from North Galway is the inaugural recipient of a new science scholarship at University of Galway – sponsored by one of the pioneering pharmaceutical companies in the west.

Mia McHugh from Milltown is studying for a Bachelor of Science, a flexible degree which enables students to explore a broad range of scientific disciplines before specialising in their chosen area.

And she has been chosen as the recipient of the inaugural Complete Laboratory Solutions (CLS) Excellence Scholarship for Science – an award that aims to remove barriers to, and through, higher education by supporting high-achieving and promising full-time undergraduate students to study Science at University of Galway.
