GALWAY'S LOCAL AUTHORITIES BAN OVERSEAS TRAVEL

Galway City and County Councils have NO plans for overseas travel this year.

They are two of a total of 13 local authorities nationwide with no overseas allocation for 2012.

The Irish Independent reports that more than half of all councils have set aside funds for foreign junkets totalling over 316 thousand euro.
