Galway twins the Irish face of Disney

Twin Galway girls are enjoying a taste of stardom as they are the Irish faces of Disney for an advert campaign for a tour operator.

American Holidays feature nine years old Alannah and Aoife Dalton in their current promotion which involves a TV advert that is being shown almost 600 times on a number of channels and a national newspaper campaign.

The girls, from Claregalway, entered a competition on the Gerry Ryan radio show on RTE 2FM for a Disney package by writing an essay about their favourite Disney character – Goofy – and won!

Majella Dalton, their mother, told the Sentinel yesterday that the girls thought the package involved Disney toys, which they received in the post and were totally gobsmacked when they won a family holiday to DisneyWorld in Orlando, Florida.

Accommodation, ticket entry and car hire for a week has been won by the girls, though the family are considering extending that by another week and are bringing eleven years old Cian as well.

“It was such a surprise. They can’t believe they are actually going to Disney. Conor (the girls’ dad) and myself were there years ago but the children have never been."
