GALWAY TO HAVE THREE DAIL CONSTITUENCIES

Date Published: 21-Jun-2012

The Constituency Commission is recommending that Galway be represented by three constituences in Dail Eireann - Galway West, Galway East and a new constituency called Galway/Roscommon

The existing Galway East is to be reduced to a 3 seat constituency and will lose part of its population to Roscommon and be part of the new 3 seat constituency of Galway/Roscommon

Galway West is to remain a 5 seater constituency but is to have the South Mayo area of Ballinrobe brought into it to justify this in terms of population
