GALWAY TEACHER UNIONS MEET OVER PENSIONS

Teachers from all over the county are joining forces in Galway tonight to voice their opposition to new changes to their pensions.

Members of the three teaching unions, the Irish National Teacher's Organisation, the ASTI and the Teachers Union of Ireland, are being urged to attend tonight's meeting at NUIG.

The INTO is urging its members to object to changes which will mean poorer pension provision for new entrants or for those returning to teaching.

The meeting starts at 8 o'clock tonight in the Aras Moyola Theatre at NUI Galway.
