GALWAY SINN FEIN SENATOR LAUNCHES RURAL IRELAND RECOVERY REPORT

A Galway Sinn Fein Senator has launched a radical new plan to safeguard the future of rural Ireland.

Trevor O' Clochartaigh along with his counterpart Martin Ferris presented the report at the party's Ard Fheis in Mayo this weekend.

It prioritises job creation and recommends the rebalancing of the CAP and EU fishing quotas to revitalise coastal communities.

It also proposes a graduate tax on all gas and oil profits, along with a 51 percent state share in all finds.

Sinn Fein also proposes to tackle infrastructural deficits and prioritising the development of the western rail corridor.

Meanwhile.. the Sinn Féin leader's called for Labour to quit the coalition.

Gerry Adams made the comments in his keynote speech,  which closed the party's Ard Fheis last night.

He says a real Labour party should not be in Government with Fine Gael
