GALWAY SENATOR WANTS INDEPENDENT MFG REVIEW

A Galway Senator is calling for a full and independent review into the running of Gaeltacht development company Meitheal Forbartha na Gaeltachta.

MFG went into liquidation last month with the loss of 130 jobs, including 30 in the Connemara area.

Reports carried out by management consultants Mazars and Pobal indicate that the board was not authorising payments properly and proper expenditure files were not kept.

Connemara Senator Trevor O' Clochartaigh says its not good enough to allow MFG dissapear without full and open debate.
