GALWAY SENATOR CALLS FOR MORE ADULT EDUCATION FUNDING

A local Senator has used Galway as an example in slamming the government's policy on Adult Education. Senator Fidelma Healy Eames says Galway VEC has only been allocated 430,000 euro for adult literacy programmes, when the figure needed was closer to one million euro. Senator Healy Eames has now called on the Government to provide more funding for Adult Education and Training.She says adults who cannot afford fees are being discriminated against.
