A Galway Senator is calling on the makers of gaming consoles to introduce a microchip which would see games shut down after two hours.
Senator Fidelma Healy Eames is asking for manufacturers of XBox and Playstation to introduce the measure on health grounds.
The call has been sparked by a 20 year old man who died in the UK from a blood clot in his lungs following a 12 hour gaming session.
