Galway Senator calls for EU Commissioner with economic portfolio

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A Galway Senator is calling on the Taoiseach to recommend Finance Minister Michael Noonan for the role of EU Commissioner. Senator Fidelma Healy Eames says Minister Noonan has a strong economic portfolio and would provide strong leadership for Ireland. Speaking in the Seanad this afternoon, she said Ireland needs policies with an economic and social vision for young people. Senator Healy Eames says this means offering more than the intern-based Youth Guarantee Scheme.
