GALWAY SENATOR CALLS FOR BANK STAFF TO BE TRAINED IN SUICIDE AWARENESS

Banks and financial institutions should introduce suicide awareness training for their employees.

That's according to East Galway Labour Senator Lorraine Higgins.

The Senator made the comments following an address by Mental Health Minister Kathleen Lynch in the Seanad today.

Senator Higgins called on Minister Lynch to address the issue as a matter of urgency

Senator Higgins told Galway Bay fm news financial institutions have a duty to look out for their customers.
