A 13 year-old Galway schoolboy is set for stardom after featuring alongside big screen legend Brendan Gleeson in an award-winning new feature animation.Evan McGuire, the son of Frank and Geraldine McGuire from Claregalway, provides the voice of a central character in The Secret of Kells, which is set to go on general release next weekend. He plays a young hero called Brendan, who is on a quest to illustrate the Book of Kells in the 9th Century against the backdrop of a Viking attack at Kells Abbey. For the young Galway boy – who recorded the voices almost three years ago – one of the biggest thrills in making the movie was working with Irish acting legend and In Bruges star Brendan Gleeson.
