GALWAY SCHOOL SECRETARIES TO BALLOT FOR STRIKE ACTION

Galway school secretaries will meet in the city tomorrow [3/5] to ballot for industrial action over the issue of pay equalisation.The ballot, conducted by IMPACT trade union, will conclude on May 13th following a nationwide series of meetings.The group says their objective is to achieve a standardised rate per hour in line with the appropriate public service grade.The ballot for Galway secretaries will take place at Days Hotel in the city tomorrow at noon.Assistant General Secretary of IMPACT, Johnny Fox, says school secretaries are angry.
