Galway Roadstone workers consider Labour Court recommendation

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway Roadstone Wood employees are balloting today following a Labour Court Recommendation. 15 workers at the site at Two Mile Ditch just outside the city and at the quarry in Kilchreest have been demonstrating in a dispute over bonus payments. The Court has now recommended that staff bonuses should be restored sooner than the company had proposed. The firm argued that bonuses should be restored on a phased basis until 2019, but the court recommended that the bonuses should be fully restored by 2017. SIPTU organizer David Lane says staff at the firm's bases nationwide are now considering the recommendation.
