Galway public invited to share views on future of Headford Courthouse

The public has been invited to share their thoughts on what should happen to the former courthouse in Headford.
A public consultation event for the future of Headford Courthouse has been fixed for Wednesday May 6 from 4.30pm to 7pm at Leaf & Bean Café in Headford.
“ I know this is a long-term plan, but this is a start”
Galway County Councillor Andrew Reddington (FG) said the Headford and District Association, a local community group, has been leading the effort to get this publicly owned building back into use.
Galway County Council has engaged a design team, led by Helena McElmeel Architects, to develop a feasibility study on bringing the former Courthouse into public use.
“The project team wants to hear from you – your ideas, concerns and suggestions for how this space could best serve the community of Headford,” said Councillor Reddington.
“The overall plan is to apply for funding from Government to get the building back into community use. I know this is a long-term plan, but this is a start. We are delighted to see that Galway County Council has taken this on board, and we look forward to the consultation,” Cllr Reddington added.
