Date Published: 25-Jun-2008

Galway people insuring their homes are being urged to make sure they're aware of the exact re-building costs. That's according to the Society of Chartered Surveyors which has published its annual survey on the subject. The survey shows that despite the slowdown in the construction industry, the cost of re-building has risen slightly. The highest increase was in the price of re-building detached bungalows which rose by nearly 3 and a half percent. However costs in Galway are still much cheaper than Dublin where it costs over 2,000 euro per square metre to re-build compared to 1,500 per square metre in Galway
