GALWAY LAND PRICES FALL BY NINE PERCENT

Land prices in Galway have fallen by over nine percent.

Figures compiled by the Irish Farmer's Journal reveal that the average price of land in Galway last year was over seven thousand one hundred euro per acre.

That compares to just over seven thousand 900 euro in 2011.

Just under five thousand acres were offered for sale throughout the county last year.

This is substantially up on 2011 when over two thousand 700 acres went up for sale, making Galway second for most land offered for sale in 2012.
