GALWAY HOUSING GROUPS URGED TO APPLY FOR NEW FUNDING

Housing Associations in Galway are being urged to apply for their share of a 25 million euro fund for Social Housing just announced by the Government.

The call was made by the Irish Council for Social Housing at its Western Regional Meeting.

There are currently 17 Galway Housing groups affiliated with the Council including COPE, Ability West and the Galway Simon Community.

The funding's being made available to buy homes suitable for older people, the homeless and people with disabilities.
