Galway hotelier expands company portfolio

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Lalco Hotel Group, which owns the Glenlo Abbey and Harbour Hotels in the city, has acquired the five star Westin Hotel in Dublin. The group, operated by Galway native John Lally and Paul Higgins, recently acquired the Glenlo Abbey Hotel and Golf Resort in Bushypark. The Westin Hotel on Westmoreland Street in Dublin city will be operated by Lalco under a franchise agreement with Westin Hotels and Resorts. The acquisition brings to seven the number of hotels in the company's portfolio. Lalco Hotel Group also operates the visitor centre, restaurants, shops and gardens at Kylemore Abbey in Connemara.
