GALWAY GARDAI STILL TO DECIDE ON PROTEST ACTION

Galway rank and file Gardaí have yet to ratify proposals by the Garda Representative Association for protest action over proposed cuts to Garda pay and allowances.

Officers in most parts of the country will from today cease using their own equipment for official business.

The GRA has described the action as 'turning off the goodwill tap' .

Rank and file Gardaí will today start refusing to carry out work using their own equipment, this includes personal cars, laptops and mobile phones.
