Galway Gardai issue warning on bogus email scam

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway Gardai have issued a warning concerning a bogus email scam currently in operation. The scam notification pertaining to be from An Garda Síochána advises the user that their computer has a virus and is locked. It requests payment to be made to a specific bank account number before it can be unlocked by Gardai. Galway Garda Claire Burke told Galway Talks that such email notifications are NOT issued by the Gardai and should be reported.
