GALWAY FARMERS LEFT OUT IN COLD AS DAS ON HOLD

Tens of thousands of farmers across the Western Seaboard who qualified for the Disadvantaged Area Scheme last year are not eligible for any benefit this year due to cuts implemented by Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney.

Galway East Fianna Fail TD Michael Kitt says it's most disappointing that so many farmers will be left out in the cold because of the changes to the scheme.
