GALWAY DEPUTY WANTS RTE DEFAMATION COSTS KNOWN

A Galway West TD has called on RTE to publish the costs involved in the Fr Kevin Reynolds libel case.
Fianna Fáil spokesperson on communications Eamon O' Cuiv has criticised RTE for agreeing to the terms of the settlement deal and that it will have to be made public.
RTE made the deal after the Ahascragh priest was wrongly accused of raping a minor and fathering a child by her in a Prime Time investigates programme.
The state broadcaster also says it is bound by the terms of the deal from disclosing the payment made.
