Galway County Council to propose routes for City Outer Bypass
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway County Council is to come foward with a number of alternative routes for the City Outer Bypass later this year. The N6 Outer City Bypass project is being managed by the Galway National Roads Project Office on behalf of the City and County Councils. Following public consultations earlier this month, the Council is to propose a number of alternative routes for the N6 Outer City Bypass Project ahead of further consultation. The proposed routes are expected to be presented to the public between October and November. Galway County Council is co-ordinating the development after planning permission for the original project was overturned by the Supreme Court last year. Planning was originally approved in 2008 but was later overturned due to the potential ecological impact of the project on Lough Corrib, which is protected under EU law.
