Robbie is riding high on iTunes chart!

From this week's Galway City Tribune - The aspiring popstar from Taylor’s Hill who won a legion of fans worldwide when he duetted with Nicole Scherzinger, has seen his first single soar to the top of iTunes hours after its release.
Robbie Monaghan, now 19, had hoped to get his career off to a flying start after finding fame on X Factor: The Band. He made the semi-finals of the live shows in late 2019 winning over Simon Cowell, former X Factor winner Leona Lewis as well as the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls.
His version of their mega hit, ‘Don’t Cha’, spurred Nicole to jump onto the stage to join him, in a clip attracting over a million views.
He had gigs lined up all over the country when Covid-19 shut down the country.
“I was disappointed because it was supposed to be my break-through year. But I spent my time writing songs and brought up a big repertoire of songs. I’ve just been writing and singing in my room. I’ve a full album of songs now,” he enthuses.
His first single, Sorry, rose to the top of the iTunes chart within nine hours of its release last Friday. It’s a lament about kissing somebody he shouldn’t have.
