Plans have been lodged with An Bord Pleanála for the construction of a major student accommodation scheme on NUIG lands at Dangan – including more than 670 bed spaces.

The plans involve the construction of four blocks – ranging from four to eight storeys in height – with a total of 125 apartments, or 674 bed spaces.

College authorities are proposing that the accommodation would be made available for short-term letting during the summer months.

The units will comprise 85 six-bed en suite units; 4 five-bed en suite units and 36 four-bed en suite units, with communal living areas in each unit. This is a preview only.
