Irish Rail passenger fuming after 'disgraceful' Galway train issue

Irish Rail apologised and have offered the passengers a refund
An Irish Rail customer was left fuming after her and her daughter were left with nowhere to sit despite having reserved seats - that did not exist.
Instead their ticket numbers led them to an open bike rack space which had no seated area whatsoever.
Taking to X, the woman added that train carriages had been removed from the service blasting the customer care on the train “disgraceful”.
She said: “These are our reserved seats on the train from Galway to Dublin this morning, a bike rack? Irish Rail, I'm sure you can do better than this? Train carriages removed. No seats for passengers leaving Galway. Disgraceful customer service.”
Irish Rail have since apologised to the woman offering her the option of a refund after the mix-up.
They said: “Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Set changes can occur due to operational/technical issues.
“If you were unable to obtain your reserved seat and could not find alternative seating elsewhere, you can apply for a refund.”
They continued: “We are deeply sorry for making you feel that way, it was never our intention but we would like to closely look at the concern raised.
“Please DM your reachable WhatsApp number we connect you with an agent who can assist. Thank you.”
