Galway Chamber of Commerce is calling on the City Council not to increase commercial rates in next year's Budget. The Chamber met with the Corporate Policy Group this week and stressed the need to leave the rates the same in Budget 09.It's understood some rate payers have yet to pay their 2007 bill and the Chamber believes this indicates cash flow and profit problems.CEO of Galway Chamber, Michael Coyle, says it's important that the Council doesn't hit businesses in Galway, when they can't afford it.
