GALWAY CALL FOR ALL MRSA CASES TO BE NOTIFIABLE

Following hygiene ratings of only 'fair' received by Merlin Park and Galway's University Hospitals a call has been made for all forms of MRSA and Clostridium infections to be made notifiable.The call has been made by Galway Senator Fidelma Healy Eames who says the infections should be made notifiable to the Department of Health.This would ensure that accurate figures on morbidity and mortality be recorded.
