Galway businessman’s Barrack Obama Plaza to open today
Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Barack Obama Plaza, developed by Galway businessman Pat McDonagh, will open for business in the Midlands at midday. The motorway service station and food court is located at junction 23 “Moneygall” on the M7. The Plaza has a centre commemorating the visit of the US President and his wife, First Lady Michelle Obama to his ancestral birthplace of Moneygall. It's also the largest employer in the area, with 70 jobs created through this 7-million euro investment. The Plaza will be managed by President Obama's Irish cousin, Henry Healy. The Directors of Supermacs who developed the site, Pat and Una McDonagh say the focus is on ensuring that all job creation is local.
