The Galway Arts Community has come together to breathe life back into the local economy. A group of 39 arts organisations, including the Galway Arts Festival, Macnas, theatre companies and festivals, have met to discuss the threat to funding of the arts in the city and county. The group believes the arts and culture sectors can play a major role in helping the economic recovery of Galway. They're planning to devise a strategy to secure arts funding in Galway. Paraic Breathnach of Galway Arts Centre believes the arts can provide a solution to the present economic difficulties.
