GALWAY AMONG TOP FOR BIG FREEZE INSURANCE CLAIMS

Galway, Cork and Dublin were the worst affected areas by last winter's 'Big Freeze'.
According to the Irish Insurance Federation, 30,000 claims were made for damage caused by burst pipes - the majority in Galway, along with Dublin and Cork.
The cost of home insurance now looks likely to increase again this year after the heavy pay outs by insurance companies.
