GALWAY AIRPORT DEFENDS CLOSING BEFORE DELAYED NIGHT FLIGHT LANDS

Date Published: 11-Sep-2008

Galway Airport is defending it's decision to close before a flight from Luton had landed last night, forcing it to fly to Shannon in the early hours of this morning. Aer Arann flight RE 508 Luton to Galway was delayed by over three and a half hours after the plane was damaged at Luton Airport. A spokesperson admitted Galway Airport doesn't have the staff to have a back-up crew on standby for rare occurrences such as last night.
