GALWAY AIRPORT CLOSING FROM MIDDAY

Date Published: 05-May-2010

Galway airport will be closed from midday due to the increased volcanic activity in Iceland.

The Irish Aviation Authority has updated its airport restrictions in light of fresh data on the volcanic ash airflow from the Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre and Eurocontrol.

The 2.25 Galway to Dublin flight and the 1.05 Dublin to Galway flight due to arrive at ten past two have both been cancelled as a result.

Dublin Airport will now stay closed until midnight tonight and will ground flights from 11 o'clock this morning.
