The Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht Jimmy Deenihan has said that the condition of the main Galway to Clifden road is a major drawback in Connemara.

On a recent visit to the area, Minister Deenihan said that parts of the main Connemara road were as bad as he had seen anywhere in Ireland, in a road that has National Secondary status.

He said the state of disrepair would receive attention in the County Council, the National Roads Authority and in government.
